AVOCADO MANAGER
Job Description
A. Production Management
· Develop and implement crop production strategies to achieve set targets.
· Prepare and manage the production budget to realize growth, revenue, and profitability goals.
· Optimize production costs by improving efficiency, systems, and procedures.
· Manage pest and disease control through integrated pest management (IPM) using biological, physical, mechanical, cultural, and chemical methods.
· Oversee crop nutrition through best-practice irrigation and fertigation systems.
· Enhance staff performance and productivity through appraisals, training, and motivation.
· Coordinate research and development initiatives, including trials for new varieties, biological agents, chemicals, and innovative growing techniques.
· Ensure compliance with certification and regulatory standards (e.g., NEMA, Fairtrade).
· Coordinate the general administration of the production function in liaison with the General Manager.
B. Nursery Management
· Oversee all activities and infrastructure within the nursery section.
· Source rootstocks and mother stock materials.
· Supervise potting, planting, and grafting of scions.
· Maintain plant health through effective fertilization, pest control, and hygiene practices.
· Manage nursery inventory, logistics, and quality control.
· Trial and implement new techniques and methodologies to enhance nursery performance.
C. Community Outreach Program
· Collaborate with local farmers through the outgrower program.
· Train and demonstrate best agricultural practices to selected farmers.

Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field from a recognized institution.
· Minimum of 6 years’ managerial experience in avocado production and nursery management.
· Strong leadership, planning, and interpersonal skills.
· Proven ability to manage resources efficiently and achieve production targets.
